Residue Upgrading

Residue upgrading technologies provide an opportunity for the refiner to move towards zero fuel oil production, whilst meeting future product demand growth from low-value residuals rather than additional crude processing. Foster Wheeler leads the way in advising on residue upgrading and providing cost effective bottom-of-the-barrel solutions to the refining industry. We own world-leading technology in hydrogen production, and delayed coking, and license technology for solvent deasphalting and visbreaking. We also have extensive experience of other residue upgrading technologies such as fluid catalytic cracking, deep cut vacuum distillation, and gasification (partial oxidation).
