Engineering & Construction
The Wheeler Condenser & Engineering Company set up a UK office in London in 1920, which was then adopted by Foster Wheeler Corporation in 1927. The UK office relocated to Reading in 1974 due to the increasing workload.
To meet the demands of the Second World War effort, a second US office was opened in Houston, Texas. After the war, international business expanded and offices were opened in France in 1949, Italy in 1957 and Spain in 1965. A South Africa office was also opened in 1970.
As Asia became an increasingly important market, Foster Wheeler required local engineering presence and so opened branch offices in Singapore in 1989 and Thailand in 1992. These offices have continued to grow significantly and are now major execution centres. Engineering offices also exist in Turkey, Switzerland, Chile, Malaysia, China and India, with sales offices in many more locations.
